Malvína Karasová

Born in 2008 and based in Bratislava, Malvína Karasová is the youngest artist associated with the Habura Sculpture Symposium. She is currently a student at the Jozef Vydra School of Applied Arts in Bratislava, where she has developed strong technical foundations and a deep connection to sculpture.

For Malvína, sculpture is both a physical and intuitive process. She is fascinated by touch, volume and the direct relationship between the artist and the material. The act of shaping form by hand and gradually discovering a sculpture through the creative process lies at the heart of her artistic approach.

Although she occasionally works with painting, she naturally returns to three-dimensional creation and modelling. She feels particularly close to wood as a material, appreciating its character and the endless possibilities it offers in the search for form and expression.

A major milestone in her artistic development has been the opportunity to participate in the Habura Sculpture Symposium. For a young artist, the symposium represents not only a valuable professional experience but also a powerful source of inspiration and motivation for future creative growth.

Her colleagues regard her as exceptionally inventive and remarkably hardworking. Despite her youthful age and delicate appearance, she demonstrates an impressive capacity for sustained physical work and an extraordinary commitment to her artistic practice.

Recognising her exceptional talent, Dr. Ľuboš Hriň invited her to become part of the Habura artistic community. Since then, she has continued to confirm the accuracy of his judgement, impressing fellow artists and organisers alike with her dedication, creativity and rapid artistic development.

Today, Malvína has become a natural part of the inspiring environment of Habura, where she continues to cultivate her passion for sculpture while working alongside experienced artists whose knowledge, encouragement and example serve as invaluable guidance on her artistic journey.

As one of the most promising young talents of her generation, she represents the future of Slovak sculpture while already demonstrating the determination and artistic sensitivity of a mature creative personality.
