Miloš Karásek
Miloš Karásek has long been engaged in interdisciplinary projects that bridge architecture, visual art, theatre, literature and new media. His artistic practice encompasses both works created through traditional techniques—such as bronze sculptures, acrylic paintings and drawings—and conceptually oriented projects, including performances, experimental video works, new media projects and applications of contemporary 3D technologies.
He is the author of numerous theatre scripts staged in Slovakia and abroad. Several collections of his experimental writings and poetry have also been published in book form, reflecting his sustained interest in the relationship between visual and literary expression.
A significant part of his work focuses on the application of contemporary artistic approaches within healthcare environments in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. He has designed and realised a number of unconventional reconstructions and artistic interventions in hospital interiors, exploring the potential of art to transform public and therapeutic spaces.
Together with photographer Michal Zajaček, he creates intimate video works distinguished by their imaginative visual language and emphasis on atmosphere, narrative and emotional resonance.
His current focus is the Instagram-based project Intimita (Intimacy), which exists simultaneously in digital space and in the public realm. Through the ongoing cycle Poetry in Space, the project expands beyond social media into site-specific interventions, creating new encounters between poetry, visual art and everyday urban experience. Karásek’s work is characterised by a continuous search for connections between disciplines, media and forms of communication. Whether working with sculpture, text, performance, video or digital technologies, he consistently explores new possibilities for artistic expression and human interaction.
